I’m writing preparing for my graduation in less than a week. Here are some thoughts as this chapter of my life comes to a close.

I want to explain…

Studying these past 2 years at HC and even leading up to it, I’ve seen spiritual warfare of all kinds…

I’ve seen discourse from those close to me towards my church or my decision to go there.

I’ve had flawed church people hurt me and some try to hurt me.

I’ve seen the enemy push their way into my personal relationships both in my life and in others lives.

I’ve also seen the enemy try to do so and fail.

I’ve seen pain.

I’ve felt lonely.

Faced temptations.

I’ve lost my job and had financial strain.

I’ve been under plenty of stress.

Being here… going here… has been no walk in the park.

BUT, but…

I’ve made friends of all kinds.

Learned leadership as a Christian.

Seen the church (and its people) for some of the BEST and WORST.

Learned how to stand in trial.

Said NO to temptation.

Learned more on faithfulness, trust, and reliance on God over man (myself included).

Learned to GIVE THINGS TO God.

Prayed a lot.

Walked away from bad relationships.

Forgiven.

Asked forgiveness.

Maintained discipline.

Learned how to mentor.

I’ve been mentored.

Given when I had little.

Given when I had a lot.

Maintained personal degrees of reliability and integrity.

Witnessed MIRACLES of many kinds.

I’ve scratched only a small part of the surface when it comes to self-sacrifice and picking up my cross, dying to self for Jesus.

I’ve failed and succeeded, but I’ve never been so grateful for His GRACE and for MERCY.

Point is, I’ve suffered a lot, learned a lot, laughed plenty, and questioned a great deal.

I’ve walked through and come through because GOD IS FAITHFUL, NOT because Katie is.

God has CONSISTENTLY showed up throughout my life whether in His presence daily or in miracles.

I’m SO GRATEFUL and AMAZED BY HIM!!!

Isaiah 6:3 (NIV)

“And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.
